Where's Ayr?

This Queensland Tidy Town winner is located on the East coast of Australia in warm and sunny North Queensland - about 90 kilometres south of Townsville, or, 50 minutes by car. We are less than two (2) hours from Airlie Beach and the beautiful Whitsunday Islands. Ayr, and the adjacent townships of Home Hill, Brandon and Giru, plus the outlying sugar communities, makes up our fabulous little world - which we call The Burdekin. The Burdekin Shire is rich in water, agriculture and happy folk, and has a population in excess of 20,000.

Incidentally, the Burdekin Shire is the biggest sugar producer in Australia.
